Mr. Du Jian, secretary of IATB, delivered the organization’s 2017 Working Report. Mr. Du stated that 2017 was a year of great significance to the development of IATB. On top of works being done by the China TB Hospital Consortium, IATB joined hands with the TB Clinical Center of China CDC and the TB branch of the Chinese Medical Society to ensure the steady implementation of its entrusted endeavors. In areas such as human resource building, domestic and international academic exchanges, technological innovation, translational works, information technology, capacity of medical service at grassroots, IATB has made some remarkable achievements.

The general assembly has adopted by vote several resolutions, namely the adoption of a new logo, amendments for the IATB’s chart and membership fees, establishment of the expert committee, the honorary directorship and membership, deliberated on IATB setting up economic entities, subsidiaries as well as the ‘Regulations on the Management of IATB’s Subsidiaries (on trial)’ ‘Regulations on the Exploitation of the Yields produced by IATB Cooperation Projects (on trial)’ . In the meantime, the general assembly has also borne witness to the induction of new members into IATB, the China TB Hospital Consortium as well as the China TB Clinical Trials Consortium, while 8 other hospitals and medical institutions have been co-opted as IATB’s council members. Mr. Xu Shaofa, director of IATB, on behalf of the alliance, conveyed his heart felt gratitude to all the medical institutions, public as well as private enterprises for their supports to the development of IATB in the past year. Mr. Xu said that IATB had achieved a lot in its first year. Not only did IATB establish a full suite of rules and regulations, it also set up a number of sub-departments, and became increasingly clear of its objectives and operated with priority. The past year saw the newly founded IATB through integrating resources in and out of the alliance, established several ‘training bases’ providing valuable opportunities to young and up-coming physicians. In the meantime, IATB had become a channel for international exchanges and cooperation, providing to the world the China perspective, while demonstrating China’s resolve and achievements in the fight against TB

Mr. Xu added that the Chinese government is set to gradually increase its commitment into TB control efforts in the years to come. Therefore, we should take full advantage of this opportunity, working hard to bring a greater development of anti-TB efforts into reality. Next phase, IATB will continue to devote its commitment on education and training modals, forging its training courses to be elite and sustainable, while further integrate the respective resources of the China TB Hospital Consortium, the Remote Consultation Center and the CTCTC, to advocate more social prominence and attention to anti-TB efforts, promoting ‘Control, Treat and End TB’ into a social consensus. blob.png
